Seth is known as the GaRoo of Love, Recruiting, Music and Events in/around Los Angeles. He was born in New York and is one of 19 children (including foster children). Seth is a poet, public speaker, community activist and master of ceremonies. He shares a wide variety of life experiences from New York to Los Angeles through hosting, public speaking, events, lectures, storytelling, music, and humor.
Driven by a passion for music and a love for people Seth created Hip Hop Café, as a meeting place for the music industry, agents, managers, and artists promoting Conscious Hip Hop. The café has been honored to have the support of many musical veterans including KRS1, Kanye West, Dougie Fresh, Travis Barker, Yo-Yo, Kurtis Blow, Alonzo Williams, Jurassic 5, and many others. Hip Hop Café has been broadcast live on KPFK and web simulcast in seven countries. Seth Baxter has been interviewed by, NPR, Dennis McCarthy, Daily News, Aadyo,103.1 Palm Desert, Yo-Yo 100.3 KDAY Los Angeles and 90.7 KPFK Artist Lounge, Kiss-FM, Los Angeles, the 2008 International Peace Jam Conference @Loyola Marymount University (with seven Nobel Laureates & over 7,552 attendees, he counted Bishop Desmond TuTu amongst his mentors and friend. One Love Music Festival, these and others to mention, as well as working with TV stations CBS, Fox-TV, VHI, and MTV.
Seth is the founder and co-owner of Hip Hop Café/Spoken Drum LLC in Hollywood. The company provides event planning, entertainment, public speaking, workshops, and seminars. Past events include the Westmoreland Project in Hollywood, The Hip-Hop Pow-Wow sponsored by the D.J. Hazze Hip Hop Educational Center, S.O.T.A Festival of the Arts, Yo-Yo Hip Hop Showcase, Diversity seminars – Escondido School District, Conejo Valley School District., Los Angeles School District Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Seth was a Behavioralist at the Institute for Applied Behavioral Analysis, a Senior Program Director at the YMCA, a Director of the Youth and Government Program, a Director of the Model United Nations Program, and a manager of Quality Improvement for a national company. As well as a long-standing member of the North Hollywood Arts Council. Currently working as a Corporate Recruiter, and consultant on New strategies for retaining talent.
He is now moving into a new phase of his career, with Makers Bar Studios Podcast. Interviewing outstanding members of diverse backgrounds, who are building better communities and new leaders.
Makers Bar motto/goal is to create One Million Leaders through inspiring conversations.
